Dry conditions mixed with windy weather kept fire crews busy late Monday, into early Tuesday morning.
A large, dry brush pile caught fire around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the City of Omaha's dumping site near 11th and Locust Streets.
At one point 911 dispatchers referred to the fires as the "size of a football field."
Crews deployed a tanker truck to try to battle the flames from above.
No injures were reported. Crews were still on scene around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning monitoring the smoldering pile.
