A 22-year-old facing her second DUI in as many months was additionally charged with motor vehicle homicide today in Sarpy County Court.
Paige Seaton faces a homicide charge on top of a DUI serious bodily injury charge on top of the homicide charge because a Waverly High School teen died in the crash, and the teen's mother was injured.
On Oct. 4, Sarpy County Sheriff's deputies responded to a crash near Highway 50 and Riha road that left a 15-year-old Waverly High School student Alexandra Linscott, who was into band and dance, dead at the scene. Alexandra’s mother taken to the hospital.
Prosecutors said Seaton crossed the center line and had open alcohol containers in her car. She has several broken bones and cannot walk at present.
Judge Robert Wester set her bond at $20,000/10%
Seaton will be on house-arrest but can go to her doctor appointments.
"It's pretty obvious to everybody now that's she's not a flight risk and not a danger to the community,” defense attorney James Martin Davis said.
Prosecutors asked for a $1 million bond because she was on probation for an April 2016 DUI when the fatal crash occurred.
Her next court date is in November.
