Former Nebraska state senator Lowen Kruse died at age 88 on Friday.
Kruse, a pastor who served in the state legislature from 2000 until 2004, represented the Northeast portion of Omaha.
His wife said he died of cancer. A memorial service to honor his life is planned for Dec. 30 at First United Methodist Church in Omaha.
