Sunset Valley Golf Club neighbors get a look at future development plans

Local developer NP Dodge has invited residents of the neighborhood directly against the Sunset Valley Golf Club to view plans for its new development.

In June, a vote was taken to sell the property and dissolve the private golf club. NP Dodge plans to have 37 single-family lots that will back existing homes, plus there will be four apartment buildings that will have a total of 138 units.

Access to the development will be on Arbor Street and 93rd Street.

Residents told NP Dodge what issues they were worried about, but some seemed to be happy there aren't going to be as many people moving in.

"It was better than we thought,” homeowner Steven Taylor said. “We appreciate the transparency that NP Dodge is doing and that Nate has reached out to the neighborhood. It's disappointing to see the golf course go, but the opportunities for having a nicer area for the kids to play and participate in would be fun."

Residents have been concerned about added traffic, given how close the buildings will be against the property; as well as the flood zone.
