There's a common perception in sports that the most intimidating looking athletes should be the first ones leading the team off the bus. Nebraska's Daishon Neal fits that bill. The 6'7" 275 pounder is in his third season with the Huskers.
And the Omaha Central alum is competing for playing time along NU's defensive line.
"I'm not looking for a pat on the back for a tackle," Neal said. "It's just sort of expected of me. I just feel better when I actually execute something and we go three and out on the field. So it's really expected of us. We try not to 'oh I made a big tackle. Whoopty-whoo.' It's what expected. I just try to keep a level head and stay humble about it."
Neal & the Huskers host Arkansas State in the season opener September 2.
