UNL Chancellor Ronnie Green announced Thursday that Nebraska Athletics Director Shawn Eichorst has been fired, effective immediately.

Green said the decision was made Wednesday. He met with Eichorst Thursday first, then the coaches after. Green said he wants to make the Huskers competitive again, and even referenced bringing the Huskers back to "the mid 1990's".
