Council Bluffs police warn of "armed and dangerous" robbery and carjacking suspect

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) — The Council Bluffs Police Department is warning the public about an “armed and dangerous” robbery and carjacking suspect.

Police say Tractor Supply employees reported a merchandise theft on Monday afternoon. Police say the suspect attempted to flee the store and get into a Dodge Ram pickup. When employees tried to stop the suspect, officers say he displayed a handgun before fleeing in the truck.

As officers were responding, they received a report of a carjacking at Heartland Christian School. According to police, the victim was told by the suspect that he had gotten jumped and needed a ride. After the victim declined, police say the suspect showed a handgun and fled in the victim’s Chevy Surburban.

After catching up to the Surburban, officers began a pursuit but lost track of the driver. The vehicle was later found abandoned at 2740 S. 9TH Street.

Nobody was injured in either incident.
