A group of York students showed emotional support for an assistant coach — on the opposing team — by wearing purple to today's game.

At Day 1 or the Nebraska girls state high school basketball tournament this morning in Lincoln, students from York High School wore purple, the color of premature birth awareness, in honor of Elkhorn High School assistant coach Ben Meyer. He and his wife lost their daughter last weekend after she was born prematurely.

Meyer went on Twitter thanking the students from York, calling them "a class act."
