Libby Kamrowski came to KMTV in November 2021. Though new to the Midwest, Libby is not new to journalism, and has been pursuing aspirations of a career in journalism since age 14. Libby started as a Real Time Editor and quickly moved to producing broadcasts for KMTV.
A Pacific Northwest transplant from Washington state, Libby was always active in student newspapers while gathering experience for internships and freelancing opportunities, eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief of The Bulletin at Gonzaga University. This led to two positions as an archivist and photojournalist in the newsroom of The Spokesman-Review newspaper in Spokane, Washington before graduating from Gonzaga with a BA in Journalism. Libby stayed and gathered invaluable experience on assignments ranging from wildfires to the BLM protests of 2020 to dog shows and more, before departing for Omaha in fall 2021.
Always an advocate for art and creativity, Libby has a robust photo portfolio from years of working as an independent freelancer, marketing photographer and photojournalist. Highlights include the NCAA men's basketball tournament, collegiate football, well-known music artists, and even Bill Gates. To view the portfolio, Libby's website is libbykphotography.zenfolio.com.
Libby can likely be found fishing at a local lake or wandering the city with a camera when not producing broadcasts.
