OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — After "many inquiries," the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission (NLCC) has given direction to retailers wondering what they should do with alcohol products that came into contact with flood waters.

The NLCC says that they checked with the Department of Agriculture's Diaries of Foods Division and that alcohol caught in flood waters cannot be sold.

They say the alcohol will need to be destroyed and that retailers should claim the loss with their insurance companies.

Retailers have been told that wholesalers will not take the product back and any reimbursements would be a violation of Nebraska law.
