Eighteen new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Douglas County

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Douglas County Health Department announced 18 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday involving eight males and 10 females between 12 and 90 years of age.

Seven of the individuals had contact with a known case, four were community acquired, three were related to travel and the rest are under investigation.

Three of the latest cases are hospitalized, according to the health department.

There are now 185 cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County and 519 in Nebraska total.

Additionally, the health department wants to remind citizens that youth sports games and practices can't be held at this time because they violated directed health measures put in place to limit COVID-19 spread.

DCHD also recommends the use of face masks by the public.
