OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On Thursday, the Douglas County Board of Commissioner's Health and Human Services Committee met to discuss aid programs for veterans needing aid during the pandemic and more.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is working to provide vaccines to veterans in the region while following CDC guidelines. While doing so, organizers say the supply of vaccines and scheduling have presented some challenges in getting more veterans vaccinated.

More information for veterans who are interested in getting vaccinated can be found at https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/stay-informed.

Discussion on rent assistance and other programs for those who have been hit hard during the pandemic was also brought up. Anyone who may need assistance can find more information at macchconnect.org.
