OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On Wednesday at the Douglas County Board meeting, Douglas County Health Director Dr. Lindsay Huse talked about the number of virus deaths the county confirmed last week and how a majority of them were among the unvaccinated.
"It's not unusual for us to see our death reports come in kind of on a lag from case rates. So it's not totally unusual, but we did have quite a few. Eighty-three percent of those were unvaccinated,” said Huse.
Huse says the county's positivity rate is sitting at 7.7 percent, which is about the same as last week.
Right now, a little more than 57% of all eligible Douglas County residents are now fully vaccinated.
