OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Easter Bunny was busy getting ready for this weekend so he asked for his buddy Santa's help.
Santa visited seniors at Florence Home for Christmas in April. He spent some time in the courtyard waving to the 90 residents inside their rooms.
It's a tradition for staff at Methodist Hospital's Acute Care for Elders Unit to do Christmas in July. But with seniors cooped up inside, Santa thought the visit should come earlier this year.
"I think it's nice they realize people do care," said Karen Huston, nursing coordinator at Methodist Hospital. “They're lonely. They want to visit with people, see other people. It's kind of nice to see Santa and his helpers.”
In addition to the visit, Santa's helpers from Methodist donated some items to cheer seniors up.
