PAPILLION, NE — Over the weekend, CHI informed people who have COVID-19 vaccination appointments on Monday at CHI Health Midlands that their appointments have been delayed until Thursday 2/25.

According to CHI, the delay was caused by "nationwide shipping delays" and that the hospital would not receive their vaccines on Monday.

On Monday Governor Ricketts addressed the issue.

"Because of weather delays, we didn't receive many of our shipments. I think Lincoln, Lancaster and Douglas got some of their shipments if not all their shipments last week, but other areas did not," he said.

Sarpy/Cass County Health Director Jenny Steventon said in an e-mail conversation that, "We anticipate receiving last week's allotment of 2,800 initial doses this week instead."

Governor Ricketts said the late shipment should arrive by the end of the day Monday.

Anyone with a Monday appointment will have the same time for their vaccination on Thursday.

People who cannot make the appointment on Thursday are asked to go to the signup link online to reschedule or call 402-593-3678.
