Sen. Sasse tests negative for coronavirus

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) - Sen. Ben Sasse tested negative for coronavirus on Friday but will work remotely from his home in Nebraska and undergo further testing.

Sasse was sitting near Sen. Mike Lee of Utah during a recent ceremony at The White House for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

Lee, who was not wearing a mask, has since tested positive for coronavirus.

Sasse had a mask on but it was not over his nose.

A spokesperson for Sasse says the senator will return to Washington for in-person work beginning October 12.

Sasse and his family expressed well wishes President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, both of whom have tested positive for coronavirus.

Sen. Deb Fischer was also at the ceremony. A spokesperson said she has no symptoms and expects to have test results on Sunday. She can be seen wearing a mask in photos.
