One person was arrested after an early morning traffic stop resulted in the discovery of drugs and a pipe bomb, police say.

The Omaha Police Department says 50-year-old Larry Lautenschlager was taken into custody after officers found meth, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and a pipe bomb in his car.

Police say they pulled Lautenschlager over around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday near Laurel and 33rd avenues because of a broken tail light.

When officers searched the vehicle after Lautenschlager gave them permission, they say they found the drugs and explosive device.

The Omaha Police Department’s bomb squad was called to collect the pipe bomb.

He faces charges of possession of an explosive device, possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
