OMAHA, Neb (KMTV) — Omaha Police Department confirms an adult male was found dead outside and a 10-year-old boy was injured from a shooting at 3021 Stone Ave, Friday night.

Johnton Banks, 23, was found dead on scene in the front yard of the home.

OPD Lieutenant Shane Myers says units were dispatched to the shooting just after 7:30 PM Friday, Dec. 27.

He adds the victim was outside at the time of the shooting, and several others inside the home.

Myers confirms Banks was pronounced dead on scene, and the 10-year-old boy was grazed by glass from a broken window inside the home.

OPD was unable to confirm if it was a drive-by shooting, but did add, the shots shattered windows inside the house.

Myers warns nearby residents to be aware of their surroundings.

"Just as anytime, you should be cautious. It is an active investigation and were not sure of the suspects at this time," Myers said.

No arrests have been made at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
