A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being shot overnight at an apartment building in midtown Omaha.
Police say the shooting was reported around 12:45 a.m. at the Bristol Apartments on Park Avenue, north of Pacific Street.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Jeremiah Bonaparte, was found on the steps outside the apartment building.
Investigators said he told police he was walking up some steps when he was shot, but he didn't know where the gunfire came from or who shot him.
Police ask anyone with information to call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
