18-year-old man injured in shooting early Monday

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police are investigating a shooting that injured an 18-year-old man on Monday morning.

A little after 7 a.m., officers were dispatched to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for a walk-in shooting victim as well as the area of N 44th Ave and Pinkney St, where the shooting occurred.

A house and a vehicle had been struck by gunfire, police say.

Witnesses say that around midnight, shots were heard outside the residence and 18-year-old victim Daevier Kellogg arrived at the door asking to be let in.

Kellogg had apparent gunshot injuries and left with friends to go to the hospital.

Kellogg arrived shortly after at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where it was determined that his injuries were non-life threatening.
