FAIRBURY, Neb. (AP) — Two people charged in the slaying of a man at a park near Fairbury in southeast Nebraska have entered pleas.

Jefferson County District Court records say 25-year-old Jerry Gilbert, of Odessa, Texas, pleaded not guilty Monday to second-degree murder and other crimes. Twenty-three-year-old Trey Saathoff, of Diller, pleaded not guilty Thursday to an accessory charge.

They’re accused in the July 1 shooting death of a 28-year-old Lincoln man, Marc Jarrell. Authorities say he was shot at Crystal Springs Park just southwest of Fairbury. His body was found July 8.

Three others charged have not yet entered pleas.
