“You just don't plan to get a phone call for something that needs to get sent out right away on the prayer chain,” said Daniel Robbins.
Prayers and support began pouring in Monday afternoon when the small town of Logan, Iowa learned that a pregnant mother and her toddler were in an ATV accident.
“I remember not too long ago she posted a picture of her husband and her son sitting on the four wheeler and saying how she absolutely loved these two and they were the center of her world,” said Robbins.
The Iowa State Patrol says Jordan Muxfeldt, who was pregnant with twins, was riding on a four wheeler with her three-year-old son Wayde. For an unknown reason, Muxfeldt made an abrupt right turn causing the four wheeler to roll. Both were airlifted to Omaha.
Muxfeldt and the twins did not survive. Her son is in good condition at Nebraska Medicine.
“You know we get up and think that we have it so bad and then something like this happens in the community and it makes you want to count your blessings, because she was a great young lady,” said Logan, Iowa resident Bill Greenwood.
Jordan's minister Daniel Robbins remembers her as a woman dedicated to her faith and family.
“She was a wonderful mother, wonderful wife, she would go out and help on the farm anyway she could,” said Robbins.
Jordan was not only well-known in her community, but also known in the cattle community.
“Jordan is probably going to have a lot of steer jock friends as I would put it, those are people that show cattle, that are really going to miss her,” said Greenwood.
Many people are mourning the death of the young mother. The community of Logan is determined to help her family in their time of need.
“They need the support of lots of people and they have that through their faith and through their family,” said Robbins.
