SALINE COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — Aubrey Trail now faces a criminal charge of conspiracy to commit murder, in addition to murder in the first degree and improper disposal of human skeletal remains.
State prosecutors filed paperwork in district court. It states that starting as early as possibly July, Trail and his girlfriend, Bailey Boswell, solicited young women through social media with the intent to kill. It alleges Trail and Boswell recruited others to commit murder and Boswell selected a victim. It also alleges they bought materials to kill and dismember 24-year-old Sydney Loofe before then disposing of her body.
Loofe, who lived in Lincoln, disappeared after arranging a date with Boswell on Tinder in November 2017. Her body was found in a rural area in Clay County weeks later.
The document also lists 13 pages of potential witnesses. Trail's trial is set to start June 17 in Saline County.
