CINCINNATI, Ohio (KMTV) - The Kroger Company, the parent company of Omaha-based grocery chain Baker's, has recalled it Simple Truth Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts because of Listeria concerns.
The bacteria Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people and others weak immune systems.
Those who are healthy may suffer headaches, fevers and diarrhea.
So far, there have been no reported illnesses from the nuts, but stores in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas and Missouri have also been affected by the recall.
