Berkshire Hathaway shareholders explore Omaha

Posted

Thousands of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders flocked to Omaha to partake in the annual meeting. Many are still in the city soaking up what Omaha offers.

“Since we had a few days for a stay, it was good looking around Omaha,” said shareholder Patrick Mulder.

Mulder and his father Hans Mulder live in Holland. They both came to Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway meeting and they like what they see.

“Now for the first time we are looking at tourist attractions around Omaha and we have a day and a half to do that,” said Hans Mulder.

They said their investment in BRK is well worth it because they trust the so-called “Oracle of Omaha”.

“I think the basic ideas he has down-to-earth organization, we love that, and we really love that and talk about that how we can use that for our self.

Another shareholder, Jeff Chan, also like Buffett’s way of doing business and came here for the first time to experience Omaha.

“I'm originally from China so a lot of Chinese investors are very interested in Warren Buffett’s investment,” said Chan.

While this year’s meeting was streamed live online, shareholders said there’s a benefit to coming here to participate in person.

“I think Omaha has something unique, it must be the area, because two big companies starting up in insurance then building up something like this,” said Mulder.
