Trumps first 100 days in office end on April 29, 2017 and ahead of the milestone, CBS political director Steve Chaggaris chatted with AM Anchor Emily Szink on Friday.

CBS news looks at what has happened and what hasn't during the president's first few months in office.

One of the president's top campaign pledges was to take care of veterans.  The VA has a troubled history. In 2014, the FBI launched in investigation after complaints of corruption and reports that veterans had to wait weeks, even months for appointments. Some died waiting for treatment.

The executive order is one of 32 the President will have signed by the time he reaches the milestone of 100-days-in-office.the most in that time frame since World War Two.

But he has failed to score any legislative victories. And potential Russian meddling in the presidential election has cast a shadow over his administration. A fifth investigation was launched Thursday into fired national security advisor Michael Flynn's possible role.

The president's 100th day in office is Saturday, the same day a partial government shutdown could take effect, unless Congress approves an emergency spending bill.

Lawmakers will vote Friday on a short term extension, buying more time to work out a long-term deal that both parties can approve.
