CenturyLink Center encourages Jimmy Buffett fans to arrive early for concert

Big changes coming for Jimmy Buffett fans.

on September 1st, Buffett be playing at the CenturyLink Center and concert goers will get to do a little tailgating.

Tailgating will be permitted in the parking lot.

CenturyLink will also be checking every single Buffett fan with security wands before the event so it's recommended to show up to the concert at least an hour before it starts.

Officials are reminding fans that there will be no opening act and the concert will start at 8:00 p.m. 

CenturyLink Center spokesperson Kristi Andersen says wading will be the new norm at the arena, and concert-goers should get inside early.

For alternate parking, Midtown Crossing will be operating free shuttle service from 6:00 p.m. until one hour after the last show to accommodate the extra traffic expected.

Officials say that fans can park their cars at Midtown Crossing's parking garages and will be dropped off and picked up near the corner of 10th and Capital.

The City Of Omaha is reminding fans that there are a number of other parking options are available within walking distance of the venue.

The city says there are plenty of surface lots and parking garages that will be available.

Some of the things that people can do to make sure lines go faster at the security check in, leave the selfie sticks at home whistle, horns and drones are also prohibited.
