The CenturyLink Center has been renamed the CHI Health Center, MECA announced Wednesday. The new naming rights deal is for 20 years and was purchased for $23.5 million.

"We're pleased to have our name associated with the fun and excitement of the arena and convention center activities, including Creighton University athletics," CHI said in a release.

"This partnership will be different compared to any other facility in the country. (The facility) will be used for health screenings, sidewalk marathon challenge, meetings for healthcare givers," CHI Health CEO Cliff Robertson added. "The mission is to build healthier communities."

The name change begins September 1. The CenturyLink Center name was adopted in July of 2011 after the company bought out Qwest.

The arena was originally called the Qwest Center when it opened in September of 2003.
