The condition of the 12-year-old Lincoln girl hit with a baseball during College Home Run Derby at TD Ameritrade Park is improving, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Previously listed in critical condition, her condition has been upgraded to serious, a Nebraska Medicine official said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

According to a witness, the girl was standing with many other people below the big scoreboard at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday when she was hit by the ball.
