From new cadets, to a new K-9, that will help fire investigators on arson cases in Council Bluffs.
"Gibson" is now sniffing out the evidence and is the newest employee at the Council Bluffs Fire Department.
Instead of a lengthy process of going through a house with fire investigators, Gibson can go to a scene and sniff out accelerants like gasoline, diesel fuel and lighter fluid.
The 3-year-old chocolate lab started with the fire department May 1st, but showed the community Wednesday what he's capable of.
The department says thanks to donations, everything the fire department needs to keep Gibson there has been covered.
Gibson's partner, Dan Roberts says Gibson keeps his team effective and efficient.
To keep Gibson always ready, firefighters train him everyday before he is awarded a meal.
