The daughter of an Omaha police officer killed in the line of duty turns 1 year old on Wednesday.
Olivia Ruth was born premature on Feb. 17, about three months before her mother, Officer Kerrie Orozco, died after being shot while pursuing a wanted suspect.
The baby spent those early months in the neonatal intensive care unit until a short time after Orozco was laid to rest.
Fellow officers have wished Olivia Ruth a happy first birthday in posts on Twitter.
