Convicted killer Nikko Jenkins could be sentenced by the end of the month for killing Andrea Kruger, Curtis Bradford, Juan Pena, and Jorge Ruiz. It's been almost 4 years since Jenkins went on the killing spree in the summer of 2013.
The 3-judge panel decided to have a tentative sentencing date on May 30th in Douglas County District Court.
Jenkins is convicted of killing the four during a murder spree started 10 days after he was released from prison.
Prosecutors argued that because more than one murder was committed at a time, and most were done to cover up another crime so he should be put to death.
The defense argued his mental condition keeps him from being put on death row. Jenkins had his mental competency tested at least 3 times.
The 3-judge panel met last week before announcing a sentencing date.
