For the first time ever, the Douglas County Fair is being held at the Crossroads Mall at 72nd & Dodge.
It's also the first time the fair has been held this early in summer since it's usually in September.
In the surface parking lot on Cass St. there's bounce houses, a petting zoo, food truck, and other entertainment outside but inside there’s just as much fun going on. In the former Dillard’s wing of the mall they've got vendors, food judging, a quilt show, and magic show.
Organizers say it was a unique opportunity to host the fair inside the mall, and brings back fond memories for many.
"We thought that having the fair here at crossroads at one of the busiest intersections in Omaha was a wonderful way to bridge that urban and rural gap to let all of Omaha and Douglas County know that we can offer something for everyone," said Sarah Weiss, Douglas Co. Fair Board Member.
Developers are still working on plans to redevelop the entire Crossroads property, but stores are still open in the other part of the mall.

This will be the only year that the fair is held here at Crossroads since they hope to have a permanent place in the future.
They will be here through Saturday night, and admission is free.
