Douglas County bond passed, what it will be used for

Posted

Douglas County emergency responders will get some needed upgrades thanks to a voter approved $45 million bond issue.

The bond will help upgrade systems at the 911 center, the Sheriff Departments's radio system, plus maintenance at the county jail.

The upgrades will also help get the county ready for Next Generation 911, which is a system that will allow callers to text 911, send pictures and video, and location accuracy could be based on WIFI.
