Officials said at around 7:11 am, a staff observed a male inmate lying on his bunk in a double cell room inside of a housing unit.
As the individual appeared to be unresponsive, staff announced a medical emergency and initiated CPR.

The Omaha Fire Department also responded to the scene.
A determination was made that the inmate was dead.
