OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) is hosting a series of free community flu clinics this week.
The clinics provide flu shots to those 19-years-old and older regardless of insurance status as a cooperative effort involving the health department, Charles Drew Health Center and North Omaha Area Health.
DCHD says with the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, it's considered more important than ever for people to get flu shots. Health care communities are concerned about individuals getting the flu in combination with COVID-19.
The health department mentioned the flu vaccine will help keep people out of hospitals and will reduce stress on health care systems.
