An Omaha man accused of driving drunk and causing a fiery crash that seriously injured three people will stand trial.
Andrew Williams faces a felony charge of DUI causing serious bodily injury for the February 26th crash near 52nd & Parker. Police say Williams was speeding and driving in a reckless manner when his pickup slammed into another car which caught fire after the collision. Nearby residents pulled the three occupants from the burning vehicle. Medics took them to a hospital with serious injuries,
During Williams' preliminary hearing Tuesday, police officers who arrived at the scene testified that Williams appeared to be confused and under the influence following the crash. Those officers testified that Williams' blood alcohol level was around .134, or nearly twice Nebraska's legal limit.
Williams remains free on bond. His attorney declined comment following the hearing.
