COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa. (KMTV) — A sleeping family managed to make it out safely after their house caught fire early this morning in Council Bluffs, near 15th Street and 2nd Avenue.

UPDATE: The family lost everything in that fire and is accepting donations. Donations can either be dropped off at 1418 3rd Ave. or questions can be emailed to carchilta@yahoo.com.

The house is a total loss, and a relative told us there were at least six people inside, including a six-month-old baby.

Everybody is safe and staying at a motel. Multiple pets also died. The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
