Flu season trend continues

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Today, the Douglas County Health Department released a report on influenza cases in the area.

The numbers show that reported cases were down last week and the week before.

To date, 13 adult deaths and one infant death were reported during the season. There were a total of 23 adult deaths in Douglas county and no pediatric deaths last year according to their 2017-2018 flu season report.

According to the CDC, this season's flu vaccine has been almost twice as effective as the the one used in the previous flu season.
