OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Maple Ridge Dental Care is offering free dental services this Saturday, August 10.

The clinic will be an effort to improve the oral health of the community as part of Free Dentistry Day, a day to provide free dental care to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.

Currently, there are approximately 108 million Americans are living without dental insurance, according to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services. There is increasing evidence that good oral health leads to good overall health and well-being. The signs and symptoms of over 100 medical conditions, including diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Lou Gehrig’s disease and oral cancer may first be detected through traditional oral examinations.

During the Free Dentistry Day event, Maple Ridge Dental Care will offer cleanings, fillings and extractions to patients all day, starting at 7 a.m. Patients will be asked to register from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Patients must be registered to receive treatment.
