A Nebraska state lawmaker apparently reported the possibility of a sexually explicit video involving Papillion Sen. Bill Kintner to Governor Pete Ricketts' office last year.
Omaha Sen. Bill Krist says someone contacted another state senator about selling the video. That's when he contacted the Governor's office.
The State Patrol is reportedly now investigating.
Governor Pete Ricketts put out a statement tonight, "Upon learning from the State Patrol of their investigation, I phoned Senator Kintner and urged him to resign if the allegations were true. Due to the ongoing investigation of this issue, I have been unable to say anything publicly. If the allegations are true, Senator Kintner needs to resign.”
KMTV has not reached Sen. Kintner for comment. We did notice his Twitter account is down but have no indication of when that happened.
