A gun bill awaiting Iowa Governor Terry Branstad's approval would allow those with concealed weapons permits to bring their weapons inside the State Capitol.
The potential change would force building security to quickly fix staffing and training issues before the law would take effect July 1st. People from other states who have conceal-carry permits would also be allowed to bring their weapons inside the Capitol.
Branstad has indicated he supports the bill which also includes "stand your ground" protections for gun owners.
