In an emotional ceremony, hundreds of people gathered at Forest Lawn to pay their respect to the honorable dead.
Names of the fallen were read aloud and for those who have yet to return for a proper burial their sacrifice was also recognized by the American legion post one.
There was the flyover by Omaha Police, the raising of the flag, and a call to reflect on the local history of those who died in combat.
The event also featured a wreath laying followed by a sing-a-long of "God Bless America."
