Investigators are looking into the death of a 3-month-old at a daycare in Shenandoah, Iowa.
A news release from the Shenandoah Police Department says EMS responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive infant on W. Lowell Avenue around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13.
Paramedics took the baby, Lily McKeever, to the Shenandoah Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Friends of the baby's mother tell us she was fed at around 12:30 p.m. and then put down for a nap around 12:45 p.m. When a friend went to pick up Lily and her sister on the mom's behalf, the daycare worker found her unresponsive. Paramedics were never able to resuscitate her.
There is an ongoing investigation into what happened by the Shenandoah Police Department, Page County Coroner, State Medical Examiner and Child Protective Services.
Lily McKeever's visitation is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. on Monday, January 18 at Bethel Christian Ministries in Bellevue. Her funeral will be on Tuesday at the same place at 11 a.m. They will have a reception following the service and burial at the American Legion off of 20th and O Street in Omaha.
