Cannabis oil, the medicine extracted from medical marijuana, is now fully legal Iowa, however, a new report says many of the state's doctors are hesitant to get involved with it.
The Des Moines Register reports only about five percent of the state's doctors are certified under the new program.
Patients with conditions such as epilepsy or cancer can qualify to use the oil but so far, only about 600 people have been approved.
Currently, MedPharm Iowa is the only licensed facility open but four more are planned, including one in Council Bluffs.
