Frequent runners of the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge may want to change their workout plans early next week.

Officials say the Iowa side of the bridge will be closed for 36 hours next week while crews work on the Phase II River’s Edge Park Project.

There will be no access to the Iowa side of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge from 6:00 a.m. Monday August 8th to 6:00p.m. Tuesday August 9th.

Officials say the temporary closing is necessary to accommodate trail improvements associated with Phase II of River’s Edge Park.

During this time, the Pedestrian Bridge will remain open with users being able to access and exit from the Omaha side only.

Officials say the closure is posted on the City’s website Council Bluffs Trails and social media accounts.
