UPDATE 10:47 a.m.: Judge accepts Nikko Jenkins' rejection of public defender's request to withdraw no contest plea.
A hearing is underway in Douglas County Court on a motion to withdraw convicted killer Nikko Jenkins' plea.
Public Defender Tom Riley filed the motion to withdraw Jenkins' no contest plea to murder on Thursday. In court Friday morning, Jenkins told the court he does not want to withdraw his plea. Riley also questioned Jenkins' competency. Just last month, the court ruled Jenkins was mentally competent for the death penalty phase of his case, which is scheduled for November.
