On Wednesday morning Democrat Kara Eastman officially conceded from the second congressional district race. Rep. Don Bacon led by more than seven thousand votes, taking 52 percent of the vote.
This morning Eastman released this statement, “From the beginning, I promised that we would run a campaign that didn’t put winning over integrity, and we did that. We fought for working people and for those of us who feel like our voices aren’t heard by the people in power. We energized Democrats like never before. We refused corporate PAC money and didn’t sell out to big-money interests. We didn’t play by the old rules, and I am so proud of my team and of our message."
Eastman went on to say she will speak with Congressman Bacon this morning and appreciates his service to our country.
