OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Every year KMTV’s parent company along with the Scripps Howard Foundation work with Scholastic to sponsor the “If You Give a Child a Book….” campaign. The campaign promotes literacy by providing books to kids.

This year KMTV raised enough money for each child at Blumfield Elementary to take home 6 books. In addition to this year’s donation, the Scripps Howard Foundation teamed up with Author Peter Reynolds to share a special book called “SAY SOMETHING.”

The 3 News Now Team put together three versions of the book so more people could enjoy the important message this book shares.

One version is a compilation provided by several members of the 3 News Now Team. Another was read in Spanish. The final version was a partnership between 3 News Now and the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing using American Sign Language.
