OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Despite the pandemic, the Latino Center of the Midlands' biggest fundraiser of the year will continue virtually this year.
The annual Destino Dinner will take place this Saturday online starting at 5 p.m.
Last year, the organization raised $150,000 to fund community programs.
Even though the community can't gather in person, organizers say it'll still be a celebration with lots of culture.
“From 5 until 5:45, we're going to show a variety of different videos, we're going to have a dance off to be able to show the finalists for the dance contest where there will be prizes. And we are hoping to inspire the community, show them a little bit more about the richness of the culture, and then of the people that serve the agency from a staffing board and client perspective,” said Executive Director Albert Varas.
Tickets can be purchased online at the Latino Center of the Midlands' website.
You can also donate to their cause by shopping online on their silent auction.
KMTV is a proud partner of the event and anchor Maya Saenz will be emceeing.
